Family Fears Planned Biosolids Spreading
posted 10:58 pm Sun January 27, 2008 - Pamplin, VA

A plea for help from a Pamplin family who fear their two young boys may be in danger.  That's because a farm nearby
plans to spread biosolids Monday morning. Paul Foster and his wife have two sons.  Foster says both of them have
severe breathing disorders.  They are afraid the compounds in the biosolids will be dangerous for his boys to breathe.

He found out about the biosolid spread on Wednesday, but wasn't able to do anything about it because his sons were in
the hospital for their conditions.  Saturday he found out that the spread is planned for 6:00am Monday.

Paul Foster, Concerned Parent - "I'm really worried that this is going to exacerbate their condition right now.  I'm
not necessarily asking them not to apply it, I'm asking them not to apply it right now."

Foster has contacted the Board of Health, Department of Environmental Quality and the fertilizer company.  He either
hasn't been able to reach them or they haven't returned his calls.  We called the property owner Sunday night.  He
wasn't available, but the person answering the phone says they are still planning to spread as planned.
