VIRGINIA - PROSPECT, PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY - SLUDGE VICTIM JANICE BUCHHOLZ - FEBRUARY 2005
"A modest effort to limit" -    Lynchburg News & Advance    - Tuesday, February 1,
2005

"While the question of the sludge's effect on a person's health continues to be debated around the nation, Janice
Buchhotz made it clear for the subcommittee members that the stuff made her sick. Airborne contaminants caused her
upper respiratory to burn and swell, she said, a condition her doctors called a chemical reaction to the treated human
waste spread on farms as fertilizer '

" Buchholz, who lives in the Prince Edward community of Prospect, told the lawmakers about biosolids: "We are forced to
breathe it. We are forced to smell it. I hate to drive through it. Even with the windows shut, the smell will kill you."

Email:  July 2005:
"This sludge from this plant in New Jersey is what was applied in Prince Edward County in December 2004 that made
Janice Buchholz sick. (Chemical burns of her eyes, nose and throat, that has now gone to her lungs.) She has been
pursuing this for the last six months. Still the run around from VDH. (With the exception of Dr. Mark Levine, Piedmont
District Health Director)"
